On the 14^th of March, 2009 within the Civil Status Service the Republican competition titled "Today – specialist, tomorrow - chief" was organized.

This competition is designed to encourage creative abilities and qualities, affirmation of officials’ professionalism within the civil status bodies system and support them for their promotion on hierarchic scale.

After pre-selection in the final stage 11 officials participated.

Competitors were subjected to four tests:

• presentation of the office they represent;

• solemn celebration of marriage (a segment from scenario);

• exam- test (two questions concerning knowledge of the law on civil status);

• organization of self-administration day, in which the specialist would solve different situations-problems that a head of CSO ("Since today I am the head of the CSO, what could I undertake ..., achievable perspectives ....") is facing with.

All competitors showed seriousness and responsibility.

The results of evaluation of the competitors were appreciated by the jury, which were composed of competent officials of the civil status bodies system under previously established criteria: correct application of regulatory documents, dress, language, sense of conviction, initiative, originality, managerial visions and promptitude.

Thus, the competitors were placed as follows:

I Place – Marcela MACOVEI, specialist at Sanatauca CSO;
II Place - Ruslan VINITINSCHI, main specialist of Edinet CSO;
III Place and mention  „Sympathy of the public” – Iulia JDANOV, specialist of Straseni CSO;
Mention  „The most intelligent” - Tatiana BOTNARU, main specialist of Singerei CSO;
Mention „The most intelligent” – Angela COŞNICEAN, coordinating specialist of Chisinau CSO;
Mention  „The most elevated” – Viorica POPESCU, coordinating specialist of Chisinau CSO;
Mention „The most assiduous” – Violeta CHIRIAC, coordinating specialist of Calarasi CSO;
Mention „The most elegant” - Inga MARGA, coordinating specialist of Ciocana sector CSO;
Mention „The most elegant” – Inga CUŞNIR, main specialist of Riscani CSO;
Mention  „The most empathic”  - Aliona CROITOR, specialist of Orhei CSO;
Mention „The smartest” – Stela PLATON, coordinating specialist of Rezina CSO.

All those who were present noted the fact that the organization of this competition was for their benefit by approaching some difficult issues in the legislative framework, which regulates the activities of civil status. Therefore, the leadership of Civil Status Service suggested the organization of this competition yearly.
