Legalization / Verification of civil status content, by the CSS




General information

 

 

Documents legalization by civil status bodies is a verification of their legality, confirmed by the stamps applied on act verso, also by functionary’s signature, who is entitled to legalize.

 

Legalization of civil status acts is made on applicant’s request, by offices of civil status and Civil Status Service subdivisions, in order to use them outside the Republic of .

 

Legalization of civil status acts is exclusively the CSS competence.

 

Civil status acts issued by the Republic of competent bodies, don’t require an extra-legalization or an apostil and are recognized in the following countries:

  • members of Commonwealth of Independent States,
  • Latvia,
  • Lithuania,
  • Romania,
  • Czech Republic,
  • Slovak Republic. *

 

Multilingual extracts from birth, marriage and death acts issued by the Civil Status Service of the Republic of have legal effects without being  extra-legalized, authenticated  and translated in the following states: **

Types of civil status acts that can be legalized

 

 

The following civil status acts may be legalized:

 

  • Civil status certificates or extracts from civil status acts registered in ;
  • Notices and other civil status acts, issued in limits of Civil Status Service competency.

Categories of applicants

 

 

Services of civil status acts legalization are provided to the following categories of citizens:

 

  • Holder of civil status act;
  • Minor’s legal representative, person restricted in exercise capacity or disable, guardians or curators, representative of the protection authority);
  • Representative stipulated by contract (authorized by a warrant, proxy).

Required acts for the legalization

 

 

To require the legalization of civil status act shall be presented the following documents:

 

  • settled model of request   ;
  • applicants identity card;
  • proof of empowerment representation (to confirm the degree of relationship; proxy, the warrant, admission service that confirms the representation of protection authority or other authority ).

  • payment fee of settled taxes.

Terms, costs and place of issue*

 

 

In case of requesting the civil status act at the Civil Status Service subdivision the legalization is free of charge, with the condition to present the respective document within 1 month from the issue date. After the mentioned deadline for legalization taxes will be paid in accordance with the general procedure.

at the Directorate of the audience and documents issuing of Civil Status Service on the – street Mihail Kogîlniceanu, 58/A.

Facilities*

 

 

Are exempt from the tariffs the following persons:

 

  • disabled of I, II and  III group;
  • participants in the  Second World War;
  • pensioners of age;
  • parents who have 3 and more children;
  • orphaned children;
  • participants in the liquidation of the consequences of the damage from Cernobyl;
  • citizens of the Republic of that participated in armed conflicts for the Republic of interest - 50 % of the total cost of  service.
  • To citizens who repeat the requesting to be issued death certificate on behalf of repressed  relatives and subsequently rehabilitated or to be substituted those issued previously
